hell hole

if you're on internship like me, you might be tempted to think that i am complaining about my internship and that it is a hellhole. well actually no. I have been quite enjoying my internship actually. some days there are really quite a lot of work, but i really enjoy working with my team, they are all very nice.

then why hell hole? what am i talking about? why, i am talking about singapore here! it is getting increasingly like a hell hole. my patience is running very thin here and i am not the only one. its getting so crowded in singapore, its really making sick and nauseated even. at tanjong pagar, i could queue for like 10min to just get up the escalator. and boon lay isn't a ride in the park either.

oh what about town? what about town i say. its so fucking crowded i want to avoid it like the plague, BUT wait what else is there to do in singapore if we don't shop. ok lets to the park. why all the parks are also damn fucking pack. even with a car to drive you to some far flunk places, there will always be at least a few pockets of people at best. there is way way way too many humans. just today as i was looking at the train of human beings making their way down the escalator exiting the station, i being to think that humans are like virus. we do nothing but destroy the host (host being mother earth) ARGH.

i want to get out of singapore to a place that is less crowded. somewhere where i can have peace strolling down the streets. somewhere where i can just be alone with him.

somewhere

Chinese and the little things

Because we are Chinese, we value family and we value commitment. But all too often, we are exposed to the Western notion of things, such as romantic love. When we see movies, we always see the courtship and then the leads get together, and that's it. No movies discuss about commitment, about maintaining a relationship.

As Jeth says, after being together for 5 years, surely the flame will not be burning. Passion and romantic feeling fades, 爱情变成了感情. And it is perhaps 感情 that matters more, because its a commitment. The passion becomes a sort of concern and regard, and even dependence and habit. In my opinion, I think its a good thing. Sister tells me she's worried its a habit, and I say be happy its a habit, because it means that you guys are dependent on each other for something, and that is a good thing. TV always shows these impossible ideals.

A companion that drives the lonely nights away. Someone to just come home to. To be cooking braised pork, veggies and rice while waiting for him to come home from work. And he knows that you haven't had your coffee yet. Its in all these little things that says the most. More than any big expressions.

Because at the end of the day, we all need each other for something, making use? maybe in the most technical definition, yes. But in these small little things, we see more than just that. From always making sure you are around in a gathering, to knowing all your bad habits, telling you to stop it. To the care and concern about your family.
